This weekend is a bittersweet one as we say goodbye to Lindy, our incredible recipient mare, as she heads home to Maryland after spending the last year and a half with us.
Lindy played a very important role in bringing this handsome c**t into the world. Through the ICSI (Intracytoplasmic S***m Injection) process, an embryo was created using the genetics of our mare, UVM Whisper and the world champion stallion, Jus’ Sayin’ who’s breeding was graciously donated by Peggy and Phil Alderman. Once that embryo was ready, it was transferred into a carefully selected recipient mare, who then carried and nurtured the pregnancy to term.
That special mare was Lindy.
For exactly 11 months, she carried this c**t safely, providing him with everything he needed to grow and thrive before welcoming him into the world. While she may not share his genetics, she has been an essential part of his journey from the very beginning.
We are so grateful for all the wonderful recipient mares who make these breeding programs possible, and especially for Lindy’s quiet, steady presence during her time here. Over the past year and a half, she has been a valued member of our farm family, and it has been a privilege to watch her raise this beautiful c**t.
