The University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm in Weybridge, Vermont is currently taking applications for our apprenticeship program! You do not need to be a UVM student to apply.

The apprenticeship program is a year-long inclusive educational experience, where aspiring equine students live on site and participate in all aspects of a Morgan horse training and breeding farm. We accept applications on a rolling basis.

Apprentice opportunities include learning young-horse handling and training, including backing, riding, and driving. Apprentices will also have the opportunity to care for stallions and broodmares throughout the collection, breeding, pregnancy, and foaling process.

Depending on the goals of the individual, apprentices can assist in marketing horses for sale, handling mares and stallions during breeding, showing young horses and stallions, and working with our agritourism team to promote the breed and educate the public.

For questions or application information, please email Equine Manager Jamie Maguire at [email protected]

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. No experience required.

Happy ! πŸŽ‰

We are a little late posting our last two foals, but we are so excited to share this lovely bay filly out of UVM Westerly by Newmont's Right Angle! 🐴

"Ivy" is cute as a button and already a crowd favorite with her boss-mare attitude and pretty white star. πŸ’ƒ

Come meet Ivy and her classmates tomorrow during our second Foal Days event of the year! 😁

Each Saturday in June mare and foal pairs head to the outdoor arena from 10am-2pm where guests can learn about a Morgan's first year and enjoy great photo ops! Bring a picnic lunch and make a day of it! 😎

This event is rain or shine- if the weather doesn't look great guests can head up to the remount barn and see mares and foals in their stalls! Admission fee supports our operations. πŸ™

Thanky you so much Alison Darby for donating the stallion service that made this filly possible, we love "Archer" and his beautiful daughter! 😍

See you soon!

Happy !!! πŸ₯³πŸ˜

He just knows he is HANDSOME!!!πŸ”₯We adore this striking c**t by Jus Sayin and out of UVM Whisper. The oldest of the 2026 foal crop, he is starting to shed his baby fuzz and his coat is coming in sleek and dark, just like his dam. 🀩πŸ₯°

A huge thank you to Peggy and Phil Alderman for donating the breeding that resulted in this c**t. He is something special. ✨

Make your plans to come meet "Ink" and the rest of the 2026 foal crop this summer- Foal Days are coming up right around the corner! 😎

Every Saturday in June we bring the mares and foals to the outdoor arena from 10am-2pm for guests to take great photo ops and enjoy getting to know about this year's foals. πŸ“ΈπŸ΄

Admission fee to grounds supports our operations. We are grateful for all those who help support UVM Morgan Horse Farm- it takes a village! πŸ™
