I'm late, as usual, with everything, but I finally have my schedule of classes for 2026 posted on my website. I'm excited because I have some new classes that I've thought of teaching for a long time but have not offered before. And also because this year I will have a new building at my orchard as a meeting place, classroom, and kitchen. You can check out the class schedule at foragersharvest.com

This is why I don't spray pesticides on my apples.

Because gray treefrogs have inherent value.

I like to listen to them sing when I work on summer evenings.
This one jumped onto my face, which is a first. Luckily Brady was there to catch it on camera.

We will be having a cider presing Saturday, October 4, at our orchard, N4623 Pieper Rd, Weyerhaeuser. Half gallons for four, gallons for six, bring your own five G buckets and we'll fill them up for twenty each. Also, lots of apples. Cortland, Honeygold, Haralson, Connell Red, Frostbite, Keepsake, and more.

Honeycrisp, Sweet 16, and Frostbite are now ripe.

Wild plums are ripe! And I've never had any this big in my orchard. I'm not sure why they are so huige this year on this variety, but maybe it's the modest crop.

Also, the Zestar apples are loaded and ripe, if anyone wants some.

Eighteen years after planting the first trees, I have finally decided to launch a page for my orchard! Another first, within a few weeks we'll be breaking ground on a new building that will serve as a storefront, a food processing facility, and a classroom/library. This will allow us to have a facility for classes and making wild food products right here at home. Long overdue!

If you are a friend on my personal page, I may have invited you here. Don't feel obligated to follow. This is just for those of you interested in apples, maple syrup, hickory oil, highbush cranberries, wild plums, or any of the other foods we produce. This year we have a phenomenal crop of apples, wild plums, and highbush cranberries.
