We have been posting a lot of pictures of our Aberdeen Angus herd. Here is a short history of the breed.

The Aberdeen Angus breed traces its roots back to northeastern Scotland in the early 1800s, where farmers developed a naturally hornless (polled) cattle known for hardiness, easy calving, and exceptional beef quality.

Over time, the breed gained global popularity for its superior marbling, tenderness, and consistent flavor—making it one of the most trusted beef breeds in the world.

At Kniman Farms, we carry on that tradition by raising Aberdeen Angus cattle with a focus on quality, efficiency, and we plan to have Aberdeen Freezer Beef in the spring of 2027.

My grandson Trevor is becoming a masterful fence builder. Today he seeded some Sorgum Sudex grass mixed with spring oats for summer grazing He used a 90 year old John Deere grain drill that still works.
