Green Gate Family Farm We are a small diversified market farm offering online sales, a CSA, and wholesale sales we produce garden plants, produce, eggs, and cut flowers.

Since the beginning we have farmed organically, and are USDA certified organic and Real Organic Certified.

Fall crops are looking lush in high tunnel 2.

Last of the sweet potatoes have been harvested.

We are kept company picking figs with all manner of critters including this adorable tree frog.

Sometimes the chosen path forward is to mow it all down!! We cleaned out the beds of any harvestable product and the drip tape (or so I thought), hooked up the flail mower to the BCS and got to work. Of course in the first 5 seconds I hit a piece of drip tape that I missed when cleaning up the beds. 10 mins later, back to mowing. The flail mower mulches as it mows, so we can easily incorporate the debris into the soil when I come back through with the tiller.

There is no better way to celebrate the 4th than supporting local farmers!

The cherry tomatoes are starting to come on strong. The CSA will get some and we will be selling excess quantities TODAY Brookside Farmers' Market. We will be set up from 10am to Noon- 6425 Wornall Rd. KCMO. All USDA Certified Organic and Real Organic Project verified.

Finally got the garlic harvest done! We had a window of no rain for two days with rain pending for the afternoon so we took it. Two hours later, all garlic is curing in the greenhouse. In our 15 years of farming, garlic has been a consistent crop. It’s always present on the farm. Either growing in the ground (Oct-June) or being offered as a farm product (nearly year round) We love garlic!

Scenes from the farm this week. We are on week 2 of the summer CSA and back into our summer rhythm. Soon we will be back to picking tomatoes. For now we are the spring harvest is still going strong and the flowers are out of this world beautiful!
