Green Gate Family Farm We are a small diversified market farm offering online sales, a CSA, and wholesale sales we produce garden plants, produce, eggs, and cut flowers.

Since the beginning we have farmed organically, and are USDA certified organic and Real Organic Certified.

Sheet pan dinner. Obviously the salmon is not local, but supposedly wild and sustainable. The veggies on the other hand are from just feet away from the kitchen. . . Cherry tomatoes, green beans, honeynut squash, and garlic. Added olive oil, sea salt and pepper. Just 15mins at 400F and it’s done!

Sometimes we just aren’t very good farmers. The parsley is getting eaten down to the stem, but I don’t have the heart to destroy these swallowtail butterfly caterpillars. The thing is, this parsley will be here for the winter and it will recover after this wave of caterpillars have grown and gone into their chrysalises. My calculations is that we may loose ~$40 worth of product. I think that’s a small price to pay for the beauty of the Swallowtail butterfly.

We are having a great late summer cucurbit harvest. Honeynut, acorn, patty pan and Safari squash, watermelons, and cucumbers. The weather could not turn cooler at a better time. This really slows down the squash bug population that inevitably will damage and eventually kill all of these crops. These bugs already out of control because it’s impossible to control them organically. We try to build healthy soils to give the crops the best chance of survival and hop we get a harvest before plant mortality. That also why we do several plantings in the summer. Our fist round of summer squash is long dead.

It’s fig time! This fig tree grew out of its pot in the greenhouse and we let it stay. It’s been in there for almost 6 years. This is the biggest harvest we have had from it.
