Just another calm day working cattle… 😅

Had a calf get stuck in the alleyway today. He got too big, too mad, climbed up on top of the other calves, reared up, and somehow flipped himself over in the alley.

At that point there was only one option—tear apart the alleyway and pull him out from the bottom. 🤦‍♀️

We finally got him free, but he came out HOT. The second he hit the ground, everyone was scrambling and jumping on fences while this angry little dude let us know exactly how he felt about the situation.

Eventually got him sorted into a pen, put the alleyway back together, and called it a successful day.

Ranching: where a 300-pound calf can completely ruin your afternoon. 😂🐂

A huge thank you to my amazing husband for holding down the fort this week while I traveled to Ohio to spend time with family and friends.

For future reference, can everyone please remind me that leaving the week before the first farmers market is not a good idea? 😂

While I was away, he ran beef to the processor, picked up pigs and hauled them to processing, organized the branding schedule, managed the farmers market, delivered bulk beef orders, and kept everything moving forward at home. That’s a lot for one person to handle in a single week.

I’m so thankful for everything he does for our family and our business. Knowing he had everything under control allowed me to enjoy much-needed time with family and friends without worrying about what was happening back home.

This week was a good reminder that behind every farm operation is a team effort, and I’m incredibly lucky to have him as my partner in all of it. ❤️🐄🚜

And seriously—next year, if I start talking about traveling the week before the first farmers market, someone please remind me of this post! 😅

Life moves fast. One minute you’re wishing for the next chapter, and the next you’re wondering how time slipped by so quickly. Between the busy days, schedules, work, and responsibilities, I’ve learned how important it is to pause and truly savor the moments in front of me.

The little things somehow become the big things — laughter in the kitchen, quiet drives, dirty boots at the door, kids growing right before your eyes, sunsets after long days, and conversations you wish could last a little longer.

I’m learning that life isn’t only about rushing to the next milestone. Sometimes the best parts are found in slowing down long enough to appreciate where you already are. And those are the moments I hold onto the tightest.
