National Emergency Nurses Week is October 11th-17th, with October 14th being National Emergency Nurses Day!

I’ve worked in the ER since I was 19 years old. Starting as a unit secretary, then as an ED Tech to now, an ER Nurse. I’ve tried other specialities…Same Day Surgery, Mammogram…there’s just something about the ER that makes me fulfilled.

It takes a special person to work in the emergency room. You have to be empathetic while being strong, energetic, nonjudgmental, quirky are just some of the characteristics of someone who works in the ED.

So I invite anyone that works in an emergency department to come celebrate Emergency Nurses Week. This invite includes anyone that works day to day in the ED…techs,secretaries,housekeeping,registration,radiology,physicians,pharmacy,case management,security….our departments are made as a team not an individual!

For all the sommelier out there please don’t come for me. Tonight I’m drinking Left Foot Charley cremant rose. I typically do not like rose w**e so if I’m talking about a rose, it’s really good. This one is light, not acidic, like strawberry with an almond finish without being sweet. I am pairing this with Trader Joe’s unexpected cheddar spread and pretzel sticks tonight. Grab a bottle in the shop this week!
