Hey Taste Crew,
We are writing this directly from the heart, and it’s one of the toughest announcements we’ve ever had to make as a band.
After weeks of deep reflection, countless late-night discussions, and a lot of heavy hearts, Taste Crew Mafia has officially decided to step down from our scheduled performance at The Great American State Fair on the National Mall. When we were first invited to be a part of the official 250th U.S. Semiquincentennial celebrations in Washington, D.C., we were beyond honored. Reaching America’s 250th birthday is a monumental milestone, and the idea of standing on that historic stage, looking out at the National Mall, and rocking out with thousands of you was a dream come true. We wanted it to be a massive, joyful celebration of unity, freedom, and great music.
However, as the event has drawn closer, it has become increasingly clear that the atmosphere surrounding the festival has shifted. What was meant to be a unifying milestone for all Americans has unfortunately become deeply partisan and politically charged.
To everyone who bought flights, booked hotels, and planned their summer vacations around seeing us rock the National Mall: we are so incredibly sorry. We know the time, money, and energy you invest into supporting us, and breaking this promise to you cuts deep. We hate letting you down more than anything.
We are currently working behind the scenes to lock in new, independent tour dates where we can give you the pure, unfiltered, and unified rock show you deserve. Stay tuned, because we will make this up to you.
Thank you for standing by us, for understanding this incredibly difficult decision, and for keeping the focus on what truly matters: the music and each other.
With love, respect, and rock 'n' roll,
Taste Crew Mafia (Boys, Band, and Crew)
