📣 FARM UPDATE 🌿
We've been working hard like busy bees and wanted to share a few before-and-after photos from around the farm!
The first before and after photo shows our pollinator garden just weeks after planting in May compared to today. We're feeling very hopeful our little plants are rooting well and growing strong.
The second before and after photo highlights just one of our remediated lavender rows. With our fields situated on a hill just above the Lehigh River, winters can be challenging with ice, snow and wind. Originally our lavender was planted in raised beds, but over time with weather and natural erosion, the soil slowly settled and washed away creating conditions that are less than ideal for healthy lavender growth.
This season we're working to:
🌱 Improve soil conditions with a less acidic growing mix
🌱 Rebuild and raise planting beds for better drainage
🌱 Use stone mulch to help reduce future soil erosion
We're feeling hopeful these improvements will support healthier lavender plants for years to come. We hope you'll continue to follow us on our journey.
Thank you for following along on our journey as we continue to learn, grow, and invest in the future of our farm. 🌱💜
