What distinguishes Vajano Farms, located in White Plains, VA, from other herdshares? For over 75 years, we maintained a Grade A dairy operation, adhering strictly to state and federal milk production guidelines. Where we won the Virginia Finest Award multiple times for the quality of our milk Upon transitioning out of commercial dairy farming, we opted to cease milking over 80 cows twice daily and instead focused on producing high-quality milk, beef, and pork on our farm. We still continue to use state and federal regulations just like when we were a Grade A dairy to obtain our milk. But notably, our operation is managed by just two individuals – myself and Tracy. While I balance a full-time role as a Nurse Case Manager, contributing to farm duties during evenings and weekends, Tracy oversees the farm's daily operations. This arrangement underscores our dedication to the farm's success. As we continue to expand, we invite visitors to experience firsthand the love and care we provide to our over 150 animals. When selecting a raw milk provider, we recommend researching their milk sourcing, processing methods, milking experience, and handling practices.
