Long time no post, sorry! But anyways…a few things have happened.
First - congratulations 👏 to the Creasman family from Brooks, GA! They took delivery from yours truly of a wonderful 5x6 AlumiCoop coupled with the Superior feeder, Superior water, roosting bars, and nesting boxes. And to top it off they even opted for the 4 season/winter kit to keep those birds 🐥 little more toasty on the 🥶 colder wind 💨 windy days! Started off a bit foggy here in White, but cleared up a bit on the way down. Welcome to the FarmCraft/AlumiCoop family!
Second - bee 🐝 season has swung into effect seemingly out of nowhere and my mind has been scrambling to get things in order. I got a new things in the works and I’m hoping I might be able expand this year and provide packages prepared by a dealer in southeast Georgia. Or alternatively I could turn those packages into Spring nucs very quickly. If anyone is interested in bee packages or nucs, let me know ASAP as I’m making a run down south very soon (later this week!) and so you could have bees in hand before the rest of your friends! The packages will be 3 pounds of bees with a newly mated VSH queen (natural Varroa mite resistance).
Third - along with the second venture, I’m having some custom 5 frame nuc boxes made that will be waxed dipped and feature a hole already cut in the lid for top feeding with a mason jar sized hole, a landing board on the front, a preinstalled stainless metal disc to adjust the opening (closed, open, vent, queen excluded). I will have these on hand this week for my own packages I’m planning on getting and will also have more for any that are interested.
Even though we had another losing year, I’m happy to say we still ended up with two hives that seem to be doing quite well with the warmer weather.
Now only if we can get rid of these crazy Japanese beetles invading our house almost the whole year!
Pictures are from the coop delivery, video in comments showing the beetles from today!
