Just a little rebranding to keep things fresh. Mama Tay and the Plants is doing business as Nourished MT. I had to take a little hiatus this last year, but am so grateful to be back doing what I love, feeding people! As always, I am committed to providing healthy options, catering to dietary needs, supporting local, organic and eating with the seasons. I will be taking reservations for summer retreats and events in Montana, as well as available for destination retreats. Trying to figure out what to do with that carrot harvest? đŸ„•

The Moroccan Carrot Salad is a hit with our guests at Dancing Spirit Ranch. Shredded carrots, scallions, cilantro, dates, chickpeas, pistachios, feta cheese, and pomegranate seeds. What else could you need? Top it off with a Cumin Lime Vinaigrette and let that baby soak up all the flavors. Yum 😋

In honor of Burning Man đŸ”„ there was that time we prepared, shopped, and built a kitchen from the ground up.

Everything that could go wrong did. From the refrigeration truck breaking down, volunteer emails not being sent, and glass shattering all over the kitchen. It was a true test of resilience.

And we succeeded in feeding over 300 people a day with our small committed crew. Our camp was nourished and happy. Despite what little it seemed we had, we were told many times we had the best food on the playa.

I think about those few weeks in the desert often. The amazing people and connections. The unique and wildly colorful experiences. But mostly, what it is we are capable of when we set our minds to something. How when you put your heart and soul into what you’re creating, everyone feels it. Despite the circumstances, we put so much love in our food. And that’s all I left Burning Man with.
