White Lake Yacht Club

White Lake Yacht Club is located just minutes from Lake Michigan, on the south shore of White Lake. WLYC is a family club, open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Activities include sailboat racing in Laser, M-17, MC, E and Butterfly classes. In addition to the racing schedule, club activities also include the swim and sailing instructional programs, the Junior Yacht Club, ladies bridge, the Sailor's Lunch and weekend dinner dances and parties. The club features a private pool and dock, a historic clubhouse, festive banquet hall, long covered porch and the

ever-popular Anchor Room. Our Anchor Room is open to members and guests 7 days a week for ice cream, soft drinks, beer, wine, snacks and casual meals. We are a diverse club with 300+ member families who all help to make our club what it is - a grand place to enjoy summers at White Lake.

Mike Cook and I had the honor of of accepting an award on behalf of the WLYC from the White Lake Historical Society tonight for the clubs recent efforts to preserve and upgrade our “summer playground” while maintaining the clubs historical character. Thank you to the many donors and volunteers that have made these efforts possible!

Dear Members,
As summer is drawing to a close and our club is being shuttered for the winter Stacie and I, as well as the rest of the EC, want to thank you all for your support this summer. The bad thing is that it went by so fast. The good thing is that time flies when your having fun. We sincerely had a lot of fun this summer serving our membership, just hanging out and participating with all of you at the many events we had this year.

Big thank you to Tim and the staff and a special thanks to the Executive Committee and the many other volunteers that faithfully support our club. This club does not happen without volunteers!

Tim and the crew will be working hard over the next few weeks to clean up and clear out the club. We will be looking for volunteers to help out on Saturday 9/21 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Come for a few hours or for the day. We will take whatever time you are willing to give. Lunch will be provided.

For those of you that have not heard, Tim O'Connell has signed on to return for next year!!
He and your new Commodore, Liz Oertel, are sure to make it another exciting year! Tim will be available throughout the off season and be monitoring the [email protected] email if you need to contact him for any reason.

FYI.. We will be leaving the Firepit and a few chairs out on the front deck until the snow files to allow us to enjoy some nice fall evenings.
We had some great impromptu gatherings around the fire this year! Instructions on how to light it are on the side. If you use it please be sure to turn it off when you are done and if it runs out of gas please replace it. Duck Lake Party Store has a tank exchange.
