Happy Mother's Day, Farmhand Mommas.
I see your hard work, your determination, and constant wondering if you're doing enough--making difference enough. Let me assure you, indeed, you are.
You are giving your children the best of yourselves.
You're giving them the most important gifts--your time, affirmation, and love.
You don't have to be perfect.
You don't have to fulfill some list that says you gotta take your kids to all the places for all the experiences before they are 18.
They have a lifetime ahead of them for their own exploration and discovery.
You don't have to always have it together.
Or have the answer.
Some days you just need to keep them alive until bedtime.
You're pulling the most difficult job on the face of the earth.
And you're doing wonderfully well.
I see it. I see you.
And I see your children.
Know what I notice?
They are splendidly happy.
Like seriously, content, safe.
More importantly, God sees you.
He's in this with you.
You are never alone, even if you feel so lonely.
Take a moment today to reflect--you have made it this far. Through postpartum, sleep deprivation, potty-training, colic, not showering for days, not being able to go to the bathroom by yourself. You know the days are fleeting. You want to capture it--but, man, some days, you just want a nap! Today's your day . . . take a nap. Resist the urge to "do," try to "be" today. Be still---do you see it, do you hear it, do you feel it? It's the life you carried. God used you to bring this little being into existence. That's no small thing. And if He created them for His glory and purpose, won't He surely be there with you in the midst of your raising them up? You bet He will.
I see you there, Momma, and you're doing a stellar job of raising the next generation.
