Looking for the perfect homes for some of our boys 🐐

We have a few of our bucks available, and possibly a couple of does as well. While we’d love to keep them all, we know the right homes are out there for these sweet boys ❤️

Our bucks — Jeff, Toffee, and Twix — are full of personality. They’re goofy, curious, incredibly loving, and truly sweet as pie. The two younger boys are especially fun… they’ll follow you around like little farm dogs and always want to be part of whatever you’re doing 🥹

These boys have been raised with care, attention, and lots of love, and it’s important to us that they go to homes where they’ll continue to be well cared for and appreciated.

✨ Ideal homes:
• Prepared for goats (proper fencing & shelter)
• Understanding of buck behavior & needs
• Lots of love, attention, and room to explore

We’re happy to answer any questions, share more info, or chat to make sure it’s the right fit on both sides.

📩 Please reach out if you’re interested in giving one (or more!) of these boys a loving home.

Since I’m clearly great at being late posting… might as well keep the trend going 🤦🏼‍♀️🫣

So this next farm family member you’re about to meet will definitely cover me for at least a couple months of forgetting 😂

Meet our girl, Mazie 🐐 the leader of the herd and our proud mama. She’s got that “large and in charge” energy, but she’s also the sweetest, most loyal girl. Wherever we are, that’s exactly where she wants to be. She’s always in the middle of everything, making sure she doesn’t miss a single bit of farm “tea” ☕️

And now… she’s officially a mama 💛
After about 4 or 5 times of me thinking “THIS is it,” she decided to do things her own way and surprised us when we weren’t even around 😅

Meet her twins:
🤎 Brownie — sweet, feisty, and VERY talkative
🖤🤍 Twix — rambunctious, curious, adventurous, and a total cuddle bug

Every single day on this farm is something new to learn and grow from, and I truly feel so blessed for this life and all the moments we get to experience

WELCOME TO THE FARM 💕🫏

We made a little road trip and came home with two absolute sweethearts…
we are officially DONKEY OWNERS! 🥹

Meet Cookie and her daughter Teeter 🤍
They are loving, curious, gentle, and incredibly friendly. The bond was instant, and we are already completely smitten.

We can’t wait to share our life and farm journey with these two beautiful souls. Welcome home, girls 🏡🌾

Okay soooo we may be a little behind on Animal of the Week… or month at this point 😂 BUT we’re back and this one is extra special.

Meet Brown Sugar 🤎 our Kunekune queen, professional snuggler, snack enthusiast, and officially our newest momma on the farm 🐷

Brown Sugar has always been the sweetest soul. She is friendly, curious, loves her scratches, lives for treats, and somehow thinks she’s everyone’s emotional support pig. Seriously, she checks on everyone and even helps “babysit” the toddlers like it’s her full-time job.

And now she has TWO beautiful little girls — Sunny ☀️ and Babe 🐷 — who are growing and thriving 🥹 She was absolutely meant to be a momma and watching her with her babies has been the sweetest thing ever.

Which honestly feels like the perfect transition into our next piece of news…

✨ Today we officially became an LLC. ✨

This might not seem like a huge deal to some, but to us it is BIG. It’s something we have dreamed about, worked toward, and pushed for through the messy days, the hard days, and the “what are we even doing?” days.

I catch myself focusing on the stress and the tough moments way too often… and forget to stop and celebrate the good. And the truth is even on the hardest days, we’ve had some really pretty amazing days too.

We are so proud of where we are today. As individuals. As a family. As a farm. ❤️

And we truly wouldn’t be here without all of you cheering us on, supporting us, loving what we’re building, and believing in this crazy dream with us.

We have some really incredible people in our corner and we are SO grateful.

Big feelings. Big gratitude. Big dreams ahead.

🐐 ISO Goat Enrichment Items! 🐐

Hey friends & neighbors! 👋
We’re working on adding more fun, enrichment, and play space for our goats here on the farm and wanted to reach out to our amazing community.

We’re looking for donations or inexpensive outdoor items our goats can climb on, jump off, slide down, hide in, or just explore. If you’re cleaning up, downsizing, or have something you’d be willing to part with, our goats would LOVE it!

Some examples (but not limited to):
🏡 small playhouses or little houses
🧵 wooden or wire spools
🛝 slides
🪜 tables, ramps, or platforms
🛢 barrels, tires, or other sturdy outdoor items

If you have anything that might work, please send us a message. Thank you so much for supporting our little farm family—we truly appreciate it! 🐐💚

This is what staying warm looks like around here 🤍🐄🐐🐖🐔
Everyone piled together, extra hay, and lots of check-ins.

Cold weather reminds us how much we depend on one another, from animals and family to neighbors and community.

Sending love and warmth to:
• fellow farmers & homesteaders
• anyone without shelter
• and especially our first responders and essential workers braving this weather

Please be safe out there. The cold is real, but so is the care. ❄️🤍

Drop a ❤️ if you’re staying warm tonight!

🐾 Pet of the Week: Willa 🐾
Our other Highland… and truly something else 🤍🐮

Meet Willa,
my free-spirited, living-on-the-wild-side, sassy-as-can-be sweetheart. She’s got the biggest heart, the strongest personality, and absolutely zero fear of consequences. Our official escape artist. Unofficially, the biggest lover on the farm.

Alongside Charlie, she’s the glue of the herd, but if I’m being honest, she’s the bond they all needed. Willa brings everyone together. She keeps the peace, sets the tone, and somehow makes sure no one is ever truly alone.

Her favorite, without question, is Charlie. You will rarely ever catch her without him. They are a package deal. Where he goes, she goes.

And then there are the twins—Bluey and Bingo, the very first goats we ever brought home. Willa adopted them immediately, as if they were her own, and they never looked back. From day one, they became hers.

This is what I strive for on our farm. Even on the days they don’t always want to be right next to each other, our animals love one another deeply. You see it every day in the way they rest together, protect each other, follow each other, and just exist as a family.

Willa embodies everything I want this place to be:
wild, loving, connected, and full of heart 🤍

Kicking off the new year with a new farm adventure—introducing and sharing the stories of our animals

This week, we’re starting something new by sharing more about the animals that make our farm what it is. And there’s no better way to begin than with our big teddy bear Highland cow, Charlie 🐮🤎

When we first brought Charlie home, he was timid, kept to himself, and was nervous around anyone except for our boys, he was always gentle with them.
Over the past two years, he has grown into the sweet, sassy, and protective soul we know today, and I am so beyond proud of how far he has come.

Charlie is patient, kind, and loves his scratches and treats. He takes his job as a protector seriously and cares deeply for his herd. He may be our grumpy old man who gets overstimulated quickly, but if you truly know him and pay attention to his behavior and cues, he will always let you know when he’s had enough.

I truly believe in letting animals show us when they want more, less, or need something different. Some of my favorite moments are simply being in the pasture, watching, learning, and appreciating who they are.

Charlie’s journey is a reminder of how trust, patience, and respect can help animals (and people) grow. We’re so excited to start sharing these stories with you, starting with our gentle giant 🖤🐮

✨ Farm Math ✨

More animals = more chaos = more joy (probably)

We’re feeling the itch to add one(ish) more animal to the mix and need the internet to make this decision for us 😌

What should it be?
• Practical? maybe
• Cute? definitely
• Slightly feral? required

Drop your suggestions + where to find them before we make an impulsive decision 😅👇

🐐✨ A Moment We Will Carry Forever ✨🐐

Last night our sweet Bluey delivered twins, and this being our very first farm animal birth, it’s hard to put into words just how emotional and magical this moment truly is.

With everything this year has brought—its challenges, lessons, and long days—welcoming Toffee (our little boy) and Swirl (our precious girl) feels like the most beautiful gift we could have been given. A reminder that sometimes the blessings come quietly, right when your heart needs them most.

We are beyond grateful and truly blessed to experience this and be there with her. This moment represents everything we have worked for, dreamed of, and poured our hearts into as a family. Watching new life enter the world on our own farm is something we will never forget.

Healthy babies, a strong mama, full hearts—and so much gratitude. 🤍🐐✨

❤️ A Note from Michels Feral Family Farm

We want to take a moment to apologize for our recent quietness and distance from social media. It’s been a tough few weeks, and I’ve gone back and forth about whether to share this — but transparency and community have always been at the heart of our little farm, so I feel it’s important to speak up.
Recently, our family was blindsided by a visit from Manitowoc County after an accusation of animal neglect was made against us. A search warrant was issued to check our animals and property. This wasn’t a routine visit — it was a full accusation that we were not feeding our animals or providing proper shelter.
Anyone who has ever driven past or visited our home knows how much care and effort we put into our animals and their environment. There are multiple shelters across our property, and we even grow, chop, and bale our own hay to ensure our animals are always well-fed.
I have cared for animals my entire life. Before bringing any new animal home, I research and learn as much as I can to provide the best life possible for them. Like any busy family, some days chores get done faster than others — but neglect is something we would never allow. Our animals are part of our family. They are our fur children, and they are loved deeply.
It breaks my heart that someone chose to make such a serious accusation rather than simply coming to us to talk about their concerns. We’re always happy to have conversations about animal care — to share ideas, learn from others, and grow together as a community of animal lovers. Every animal is unique, and there’s always room to learn and improve.
Thankfully, the county officials were kind and respectful to work with, and we’re cooperating fully as we work to understand how this all came about. Still, it’s been an emotional experience for our family, and we’re taking a small step back from posting while we process, heal, and decide how to move forward.
We want to thank everyone who has reached out, supported us, and stood by us through this. Your encouragement, kindness, and trust mean more than we can ever express. We’re so grateful for the incredible community we have around us.
Thank you all for understanding and for continuing to believe in our family and our farm. ❤️

With love and gratitude,
The Michels Family
