not every farm dog sleeps in the house.

livestock guardian dogs were bred to live with the animals they protect. they patrol all night, make their own decisions, and their job is to stay with the herd.

for many of them, being locked inside would actually make them miserable.

curious what people think about this.
should working dogs live with livestock or inside with people?

looks like tick season came early this year 😩 i pulled probably 10 ticks out of one ear today. one ear. on one dog. calling in our prescription bravecto early this year

if you live in the south you already know… when the weather starts warming up the ticks explode. our dogs are out working, guarding livestock, running the property, and there is no way to avoid exposure completely.

this is why we stay on top of prevention. BRAVECTO has honestly been one of the biggest helps for us on the farm. when you’re dealing with livestock guardian dogs that live outside and cover acres every day, you need something that actually works and lasts.

ticks aren’t just gross… they carry disease and can make a dog really sick if you aren’t careful. ticks and fleas i do NOT play around about

morning patrols are underway !

my LGDs have been up and at em checking in on the herd, making sure the sheep, goats, and chickens are safe and sound. there's nothing better than starting the day with these gentle giants by my side.

it's always amazing to watch them at work.. and yes, they still find time for belly rubs and puppy eyes! who else loves seeing hardworking farm dogs in action?
