We are going to get a flyover on the Fourth of July!

Bennington has been officially included in the Vermont Air National Guard’s 4th of July flyover schedule!

Through coordination between Retired U.S. Army First Sgt. Frank Wetherby of the Vermont Veterans Board of Directors and the Vermont Air National Guard, Bennington has been added to the official 4th of July flyover schedule.

Four F-35A Lightning II jets from the 158th Fighter Wing will be flying over the region to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States. The aircraft are scheduled to pass directly over the intersection of Route 7 and Route 9 in Bennington at approximately 11:41 AM on July 4th.

Our hope is that our community will join together at that time to look up, reflect, and celebrate this 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

I was asked to show a video of the accumulator working. This accumulator works with no motors or hydraulics, just gravity after the initial push from the baler.

Finally had a chance to try out some new to me, haying equipment, the last couple days. I hope to take some of the manual labor out of loading hay trailers and wagons. I feel pretty blessed today for just beating the rain. Also really appreciate the extra set of hands from Malcolm Sumner, a longtime close farmer friend of ours.

What an outstanding week! I got the privilege of watching two of my grandsons on their moving up days from 5th grade and from 8th grade. Being a farmer, it's pretty easy to miss out on these life achievements. So proud of these boys!
Also this week I got 20 loads of silage put into our silo, loaded and delivered 250 bales of hay to Dover . Also loaded and a delivered pick up load of hay to Guilford. A special thank you to Konner Janovsky for helping load the trailer and to my dad for cutting and raking most of the grass that went into the silo. I also got to take my beautiful wife out to dinner last night at "The Woodshed" in Wilmington. Had a wonderful couple of conversations while there. This morning a log truck load of hemlock and spruce logs that I had cut last winter, left for the mill. Feeling pretty blessed and accomplished!

What a beautiful morning for chopping a couple loads of grass silage for next winter. Had a gearbox shaft break yesterday on our forage box, a big thank you to Scott Roberts in Colrain MA for the use of his forage box. There are fewer and fewer farmers that have these boxes. We all have to stick together and help one another out when someone is in trouble.
