I just realized I haven't been on in a while to give any kind of updates, so this is probably going to be long.
Josh is now working for a different company. Which means he wont have to go out of town anymore, a huge plus, and he works 4 10's so he gets to enjoy 3 day weekends, doing projects for me mostly. LOL
Dixie didnt get bred, as the breeder had to pull out due to her replacement stud not being ready to cover mares this year. So if you know of someone local to the Shasta/Tehama and surrounding counties that has a nice stud let me know please.
I thought I had a buyer lined up for the last 4 does (and possibly Jack) but that seems to have also fallen through. I had another lady interested but lost her contact info. If you know someone that is looking send them my way, I wont split them up as they had a hard enough time loosing my senior does from their herd. Also, ideally Goofy would have to go with them as he wouldn't have anything here to protect and would end up very unhappy.
Nacho is now ready for the weight of a packsaddle so we are looking for one if you know of one for a decent price (not looking to spend a small fortune), again let me know.
Oh we got the siding on the house done and just need to paint it so that is the next main project, besides rebuilding the back porch (it was small and not in great shape).
Unfortunately we were too busy to plant a garden this year, but we decided we wont let that happen again next year! We really miss the home grown foods. Thankfully we did buy a steer from our friends and have had locally grown beef to eat (so much better than store bought!) Our peach trees are doing amazing this year and about ready to harvest. Our pear trees were a major set back this year as our favorite one completely died off and the other was almost completely destroyed by the deer. The deer also got one of the apple trees so we will only have half the apples we were expecting. Time for some better fencing around the fruit trees!
The kids have been finding odd jobs to earn money to pay for their upcoming Disney World trip. They get to go without us, which will give us a nice stay-cation lol. Their odd jobs have been keeping them busy, but that put Trin getting to rebuild the '65 on the back burner for now.
Last weekend we did get to take the kids up to Shasta for the Kids Free Fishing day. They had a blast even though they hit their limit in no time flat. The came home and cleaned their own fish and had it for dinner the next night (he had a dinner to go to or they would of had it right then lol)
As for me, I will probably be slacking on updates for awhile as I am putting my focus into my studies. I decided to go back to school to finish the BA I started awhile back. With Josh home more it seemed like this would be the best time to do it.
With all that said, I hope you all have been doing well and taking care of yourselves. I will try not to be a stranger but I cant make any promises lol
