Growing up on DER – Godley, Justin was provided the opportunity to be able to raise and show steers and poultry, competed in equestrian shows/playdates, as well as shooting sports. Though his years of participating in these various activities ended when he graduated and joined the Marine Corps, Justin’s experiences on the ranch led to his continued success as a leader. The Allbright’s currently li
ve in Godley; however, DER-W will soon be their homestead. More importantly, DER is their future agriculture-based, youth-supporting ranch. DER-W is working towards dividing up 4, ½ acre pastures which will be lent out to local youth who are interested in raising, training, and showing heifers/steers. DER-W will also be partnering with other organizations, ranchers, and farmers to provide leadership, financial, livestock management, goal setting, planning, ranch management, and organizational training to youth in the Whitney/Hill County area. Sabrina and Justin’s passion for helping others carries financial responsibilities. Currently, the ranch’s funding comes from the Allbright’s careers, which are both in public service. They look forward to someday having partnerships with other like-minded organizations and people to help support their mission of being an agricultural resource for youth in the Whitney and Hill County area. DER-W is fortunate to have many volunteers and family members that continue to support their mission by donating countless hours of service. During 2023, DER-W hopes to complete the pasture-dividing project, which includes fence building, hanging gates, running water lines, and building structures. If you are interested in volunteering to help, no experience necessary, reach out to DER-W directly here on Facebook or by email at [email protected].
