Hi friends!! New pricing alert!

Unscented: $15
Frankincense: $20
Blue Tansy +: $25

It’s taken a min to get our recipe fine-tuned but we feel we’ve done that with our current line up: 100% grass-fed & finished tallow (multiple clarifying renderings) + organic castor oil + organic raw honey + organic rosehip oil with vitamin e. This is our baseline and is the “Unscented” variety. If you prefer a coconut oil variety instead of castor oil, please reach out and we can create a batch for you! Beyond this we also offer two scent options: Frankincense or Blue Tansy+. While these both smell great, our goal is not scent as much as additional skin benefit. So either of these will offer a lil boost to the already amazing Unscented option. We elect to use the highest quality essential oils we can manage and because of that need to price the “scented” options accordingly.

For full transparency: here are things we debated to avoid a price adjustment —

Packaging: we could reduce our costs pretty greatly by opting for cheaper plastic packaging. While we do use plastic packaging for our deodorant & lip balms, we only do so begrudgingly because glass for such items is not easy to manage. A primary goal for us is reduction in the use of endocrine distruptors and so we elected not to change the packaging of our face & body creams to a more cost effective plastic option.

Essential oils: using lower quality essential oils would be an immense cost difference for us. However, lower quality essential oils are more likely to have lower quality plant materials going into them which could cause issue with the effectiveness and safety of the end product. In truth, my eventual goal is to use only my own homemade plant extracts in place of essential oils but I am not ready to do that anytime very soon. So for now we are opting for higher quality essential oils.

Please feel free to reach out with questions or comments! 🫶🫶🫶

Again, lavender and tea tree ESSENTIAL oils have both been shown to be endocrin distruptors/potentially contribute to cancer growth. you’ll not find me using either in my products. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, the next 10-15 years are gonna be rough for those of us that love essential oils. Our home is fragrance free but also lavender & tea tree oil free… the one study I read seemed to potentially implicate up to 65 other essential oils that share a lot of the same similar compounds as these two. The study did not name the other 65. It also did not name a brand of essential oil and while I’m sure quality plays a role, it’s important to note that some of this endocrine distruption has to do with the essential oil making process regardless of the quality of product. I’m currently in the process of learning to make plant extracts and hopefully eventually omitting essential oils from my daily use products — both those I use and those I sell. I personally still do use essential oils daily but keep an eye on emerging research and make decisions about which ones I might avoid based on that info. Anyway, Fellow essential oil lovers, hold on to your butts!

New IMPROVED deodorant now with BENTONITE CLAY!
If you’ve ever purchased a deodorant from me before please reach out, I’d love to gift you an equal sized deodorant of this new and better formula!! This combo is kind of blowing my mind.

BE AWARE many large companies are selling “non-toxic” deodorants that still contain preservatives and FRAGRANCE. Read those ingredient lists, you don’t want to be smearing fragrance (a known hormone disrupter) on your pits.

I’ve had some people ask if my deodorants contain non-nano zinc. Ive searched online (and pubmed) looking for safety studies for application of non-nano zinc directly to our pits and I cannot find them. It may very well be safe but I tend to play it safe with the armpits because they have such high lymphatic activity. So I’ve been recipe testing over and over to find a combo of things which exclude non-nano zinc but still work well and don’t irritate. This current recipe seems to achieve my goals!

That said, if you have any studies performed on non-nano zinc as a deodorant item PLEASE send them my way!
