The Rafter 2 Ranches are located approximately an hour south of San Antonio, Texas in both Live Oak and Atascosa counties. The Rafter 2 is a combination of both the long standing Harper and Taylor ranches and can be traced back as far as the mid 1930’s. Today the ranch is operated by owner, D’Ann Harper and her daughter Kaye Harper Contreras. Rafter 2 is committed to the finest Red Brangus breed.

Red brangus are predominantly slick haired, deep red animals. Rafter 2 raises all animals on forage land with minimal supplemental feed. With approximately 250 head of cattle the ranch offers a top quality herd that is serviced by registered bulls. We have found that our animals are more likely to have longer, productive lives and produce hardier offspring with this feeding regime. Most of our yearling heifers and bulls have been purchased to supplement herds.some have also been sold as show animals.
