Congratulations Jozie Salazar for her Reserve Champion Spotted Market Hog at Clay County Fair in Spencer, Iowa.

Also the rest of the young people of the J.V. Ranch Crew Jalen Zaugg, Jose Salazar, and Jozie Salazar, and we even got Leah “Cow Show Barbie” showing our Spotted Hogs. They did very well in their classes we had several gilts in the tops of their classes, one gilt back for the champion drive, as well as pretty good performances in their showmanship classes

2024 Palo Alto County Fair hog show in the books!

Congratulations to Jalen “Wally” Zaugg who won Champion Purbred Spot Gilt.

Great Crop my little field produced 19 5x5 bales, plus a little 1/3 roll. Lots of leaf inside, but it is first cutting so there will be some stems. Virtually no weeds real clean field. Baled 6/10/24

$130 per bale individually.
$115 per bale if you take it all.

Both litters sired by the Nationally Recognized boar “Hostage”, standing at Shipley’s. Out of one of our best Sows “Loos Eddeth 120-1, and one of her best Gilts “JVR2 Eddeth 73-1”.

I am honored to have been elected by the membership of the Iowa Auctioneers Association to serve on the Board of Directors. Considering I’ve only been a member of the IAA, and resident of Iowa, for only two and a half years, this huge vote of confidence by the membership will not be taken lightly. Quite frankly, I was shocked that I would even be considered for a nomination. I feel privileged to be a part of such a diverse group of professional individual’s and chosen during the IAA’s 75th Anniversary celebrations.

Both my wife and I, know we’ve found a great place to call home!
