Beautiful Tennessee evening!

I guess it's time to introduce everyone to our newest additions to the farm!

Please welcome 18 of our baby chickens!
They are a breed called Sexlinks, so they are a cross breed and made for higher quality egg production.

We have started them in a brooder in our living room, but today was their very first day on grass.

Sheena and Amanda have had a ball naming and handling them. They were started on organic chick feed and fresh water. They will be key in helping this farm become sustainable and self sufficient.

Thank y'all for following us. Things are getting better and spoiler alert, but more animals maybe coming soon... 🤫🤫

When Sheena and I lived in the suburbs of south west Ohio, we had a really nice home on the older side of town, so our power went out nearly everytime a severe storm would blow through.

So, now we have an inside joke that we say every time it storms.

"Gosh I hope we don't lose power!" Haha

I'm sorry. That was a little bit of off-grid humor lol.

See the number on the left? That is power from the sun coming in. We have 4- 100watt panels placed in the yard.

This box runs the entire house. Well unless we are using the generator. (Which im not happy with right now)
