We didn’t manage to sell the farm in time for school so we’re going to stay put until next Spring and do a very soft reopening! I put together a fun flock of Orpington chickens (one lavender, three chocolate silver laced and ten buff). This should be fun! I will post updates as I get their coop and run put all the way together.

I’m writing today to say that I have decided to close Texas Honey Spot. We are moving soon and as part of that fresh start, I want my ducks to just enjoy life in the most bougie, predator proof, paradise run that I can possibly build for them and stop putting the pressure on them to be producers.

What this means: I will not be doing any more NPIP testing (them or me). I will not be shipping eggs. I will not be selling ducklings or adult birds. I will not be incubating or brooding ducklings anymore (if my ducks decide to make their own babies, I’ll support them). I’ll of course continue to have my TAHC testing done and promote the livestock conservancy’s mission. I may or may not keep my website up, if I do I will probably reduce it heavily. I won’t be selling anything else either. I will be closing down this page in a few months.

I have a duckling, almost 2 weeks old, who has one leg that doesn’t work. He (I don’t know if it’s a he or a she) is doing great and gets around well despite it. I would love to find him a loving home! I have one duckling that can go with him. No rehoming fee but you must have a brooder set up especially for him with food and water that he can reach. He has used a brooder plate as well as a space heater brooder and has done well with both, I don’t think a heat lamp would be appropriate for him. I will be asking for pictures of your brooder if you message me. Local pickup in Wichita Falls, only.
