🌸 Don’t wait until next spring to wish you had planted zinnias.

You still have time to enjoy gorgeous cut flowers THIS season! 🙌🏻 Plant them now, and when the blooms fade, save those dried flower heads for FREE seeds to plant again next year. 🌼✨

I’m already planning my snapdragons for fall, but zinnias are one flower I’ll never skip. They’re easy, beautiful, and keep giving year after year.

🌿 Plant now. Enjoy blooms this season. Save seeds for next year.

Garden girl becomes beekeeper… and the bees immediately humbled me 🐝😂🌹 . My mistake was first using a mason jar feeder above the super which broke & encouraged the bees to congregate in that upper space. I forgot to take the super off when filling with a feeder slat. Combined with a new nuc that’s in “build mode,” they did what bees naturally do—they started making fresh comb wherever they had room.

Tomorrow I will:

1. Gently scrape off the burr comb.
2. Lay the wax pieces on top of the inner cover or just in front of the hive entrance. The bees will clean up the nectar and recycle the wax. (I generally avoid dropping large chunks directly into the hive because they can create a mess or encourage comb to be rebuilt in odd places.)
3. Remove the super and focus on the brood box.
4. Continue feeding the nuc with the frame feeder.
5. Put the super back on once the brood box is about 80–90% drawn and well covered with bees.

Thankfully the comb is very white and fresh, they haven’t invested much in it yet. The bees are healthy enough to produce wax—that’s actually a good sign. They just need their energy directed toward finishing the brood box first.

POV: Your daughter picks a bouquet she grew from a tiny seed… just to surprise Grandma. 🥹🌸

This is your sign to plant zinnias TODAY. It’s still not too late to sow them in July, and they’ll reward you with armloads of colorful blooms for weeks. 🌼✨

One little packet of seeds = countless bouquets and sweet memories. 🤍

This is why I always save my zinnia seeds. You never know what you’ll get next! 🌼💛
* One tiny bee changed my entire flower garden. 🐝🌸
* No filter, no editing—my cross-pollinated zinnias really look like this. 😍
