DELAWARE FIRE RESPONSE

Last night our firefighters spent several hours on scene battling the Delaware Fire, remaining on scene until after 1:00 AM.

Unfortunately, we suffered significant equipment damage, including one of our brush trucks water pump and two damaged tires, resulting in thousands of dollars in repairs.

As a volunteer department, unexpected repairs like these are a major expense. If you’re able, please consider donating to help us get our equipment repaired and back in service. Every dollar helps!

Today we’d like to recognize someone who often works behind the scenes but makes a tremendous impact on our department and so many others—our Emergency Management Coordinator, Keith.

An Emergency Management Coordinator is much more than someone who sits behind a desk. Keith is always there when he’s needed, whether that’s coordinating resources during emergencies, helping departments secure the resources they need, or rolling up his sleeves to pick up a hose and jump on a fire truck alongside us. He never hesitates to do whatever the situation calls for.

Volunteer fire departments depend on strong partnerships, and Keith has been one of our biggest supporters time and time again. His dedication, leadership, and willingness to serve have strengthened not only our department, but emergency response throughout our county.

Keith, thank you for always having our backs. We want you to know that we’ll continue to have yours, just as you’ve had ours so many times over.

As discussions continue regarding the future of the Emergency Management Coordinator position, we encourage everyone who understands the value this role brings to our community to attend the upcoming Commissioners Court meeting and respectfully make your voice heard. This position is vital to the safety and preparedness of our county, and we believe it should remain in place.

A huge THANK YOU to Christ's Community Fellowship❤️🚒

The members of Christ Community Fellowship recently collected and donated an incredible supply of water, sports drinks, electrolyte mixes, and other hydration items to our department!

We are truly grateful for your kindness, support, and partnership. It means so much to know we have a community that stands behind us.

Arrowhead Ranch Estates Volunteer Fire Department 🚒🇺🇸

On Saturday, July 25, Lake Arrowhead Volunteer Fire Department responded to a grass fire inside Lake Arrowhead State Park near FM 1954 and FM 2606. We were assisted by our neighbors at Arrowhead Ranch Estates Volunteer Fire Department, and together we were able to keep the fire contained to less than five acres.

Based on our observations, we believe the fire may have originated from an electrical issue involving a transformer inside the state park. The fire was fueled by tall, dry grass, but fortunately the surrounding trees helped reduce the wind, slowing the fire's spread. This allowed firefighters to contain the fire before it could cross the highway.

Lake Arrowhead VFD and Arrowhead Ranch Estates VFD responded with five trucks and numerous firefighters who worked together to quickly bring the fire under control.

We sincerely appreciate the assistance and teamwork provided by Arrowhead Ranch Estates Volunteer Fire Department. Working together helps protect our communities and makes all the difference during incidents like this.
I would also like to thank the state park police as well as Clay County Sheriffs office for the support and traffic control.

As call volume increases and we head into another busy grass fire season, our crews will be out for long hours in the heat. We’re asking our community for help keeping our firefighters hydrated and safe. We’re accepting donations of bottled water, Gatorade, LMNT packets, Liquid IV and other hydration drinks. Items can be dropped off at the Fire Department! Thank you for supporting those who serve.
