🌻 The way God designed the sunflower is incredible.

Sunflowers aren’t just beautiful. Their roots can take up certain heavy metals and contaminants from the soil through a process called phytoremediation. 🌱

Then look at the center. The seeds form incredible interlocking spirals, and the number of those spirals often follows the Fibonacci sequence—34, 55, 89, 144…

And sunflowers aren't alone. 🌻 Echinacea has this beautiful spiral pattern too—you can see it so clearly in the photo I took! Similar mathematical patterns show up throughout creation in pinecones, pineapples, succulents, and so many other plants. Even seashells display beautiful mathematical spiral patterns. 🐚

The more closely you look at creation, the more incredible it becomes.

From what the sunflower is doing beneath the soil to the mathematical order right in the center of a flower…

God didn’t just make creation beautiful. He designed it with incredible order and purpose. 💛

The heat has been relentless lately, and the lack of rain has really taken a toll on our flower field. ☀️🥵 We’re also in that weird in-between part of the growing season—the older plantings have finished out, the new plantings are growing, and we’re still planting more! 🌱

We do have a few ProCut sunflowers available right now, and they’re one of our absolute favorites to grow. 🌻

We grow both ProCuts and branching sunflowers, but for bouquets, ProCuts are hard to beat. They’re bred specifically for cut flowers, producing one beautiful bloom on a long, strong stem. Branching varieties give us multiple blooms from one plant, but the stems and flowers tend to be a little less uniform.

Another BIG reason we love our ProCuts? No pollen dust! 🙌 Most ProCut varieties are pollenless, so you don’t have yellow pollen falling all over your table, counters, or clothes. They were truly made for the vase!

Right now, we’re planting, watering, growing and waiting for that next round of flowers to start blooming. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes even when the field isn't overflowing with blooms. 🌱🌻

In the meantime, please say a little prayer with us for cooler temperatures and some good, soaking RAIN! 🙏🌧️ This Texas summer has been a tough one on the flower field!

We stayed busy this weekend.

Another hoop house is up, and the first snapdragons are in the ground.

Now comes the waiting, watering, and hoping for cooler weather.

One step at a time, we're getting ready for fall. Who else is ready??? 🍂🍁

A little update from Wild Row Flower Co.

You won't see us at the Farmers Market today, but don't worry—we'll be back!

Right now we're taking some time to reset the flower field. That means pulling out what's finished, cleaning up beds, and getting ready for the next round of blooms. It's just part of flower farming.

The good news is we have sunflowers, zinnias, and lots of other fun flowers and filler coming soon, and we're excited to share them with you.

Thank you for supporting our little farm through every season. We appreciate each and every one of you.

We may be taking a two-week break from the farmers market as we wait on our little farm to produce its next round of blooms. Farming teaches patience, and we have to work with the seasons and what the land provides. We'll keep you updated and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Fresh-cut sunflowers keep opening in the vase over the next couple of days, so your bouquet just keeps getting better. That's one of my favorite things about farm-fresh flowers. 💛
