Well… that’s officially a wrap on the 2026 vegetable garden. 🫠

I kept hoping it would recover after the herbicide drift in June, but it never really did. And ultimately, I’m pretty sure the produce was toxic from the exposure and I wasn’t comfortable feeding it to my family.

So I pulled it.

Months of work and basically no harvest, which doesn’t feel great.

Now tell me because I know we’re all going to have opinions. Would you have pulled it too, or eaten the produce?

Spice surprised us 8 days early last night with the tiniest little black calf, tucked down in the brush where we couldn’t see either of them from the house.

By sunset, all five of us were standing in the pasture watching brand-new legs figure out how to stand, waiting for baby to find milk, and eventually moving everyone up to the corral for the night.

Mama is doing great, baby has a full belly, and I have approximately 847 photos on my camera roll already.

Now we just need a name. Any ideas?! 🥹

The best place to find old fashioned butter molds and presses are garage sales, antique malls, Etsy and craft shows!

Be sure to check for any cracks or splits before buying, they won’t work if they’re damaged. One time I almost bought the most adorable goose bell mold, but it had a crack and I knew it would only be good for decorating, so I passed. It was hard to walk away, though!
