We love Mary Alice at Latch Co. for a trusted lactation consultant. Excited to share that she is now offering in-home visits!

🌿 Lactation support, right in the comfort of your own home!

The early postpartum days can be tender, exhausting, and full of adjustment. That’s why I’m now offering home visits for lactation support, so you can get the help you need without having to pack up, load everyone into the car, or navigate another appointment.

Home visits can be especially helpful when you’re:
🤍 In the immediate postpartum healing phase
🤍 Recovering from birth and would rather stay home
🤍 Caring for older children and don’t want to arrange childcare
🤍 Looking for support in your own space, where you and baby are most comfortable
🤍 Simply wanting a little more convenience during a busy season of life
Sometimes the best place to receive support is right where you already are.
📍 Home visits available in Wichita and surrounding areas.
📩 Reach out to schedule lactation support or learn more about availability: 316-202-8514 or www.kslatchco.com

We’re at the tail end of our contract with this family so we have the baby almost sleeping through the night, naturally!

Beth (and all of our doulas and nurses) provide a fantastic experience for parents - expert baby care so they can catch up on sleep, ensuring that the baby’s room and items are clean and prepared, and even doing laundry so the home is fresh and ready for the family’s day.

No contract is too small or too large for Wichita Baby Co - whether you just want a couple nights when you get home from the hospital, or full-time care throughout your postpartum journey - we’re here for you to make having a baby better than you ever dreamed could be possible.

Beth is a certified doula and mom of two who lives in west Wichita, Kansas. We have been proud to have her on the WBC night doula team since 2024!

You don’t always need the most expensive electric pump to successfully express breastmilk. Every body responds differently, and some moms actually get better output with a simple hand pump or even hand expression. Comfort, fit, stress levels, and technique can make a huge difference. Expensive doesn’t automatically mean better. If pumping has been frustrating, it may be worth trying another option before giving up. A manual pump can be portable, quiet, and effective, while hand expression can be great for relief or collecting milk. The best pump is the one that works best for you and your baby.

New Parent Tips with Jessica, RN and Postpartum Doula

It’s okay to pause. If your baby is crying and you are feeling upset and frustrated, gently lay them down in the crib and take a moment for yourself. Step away, breathe deeply, and let your body reset. A few minutes of calm can make all the difference in how you show up next. You’re not failing—you’re human, and this is hard. Caring for yourself is part of caring for your baby. They don’t need perfection, they need you steady and present. Take the breath. Regroup. Then go back with a little more peace in your heart. You’ve got this.

Jessica is a mother-baby nurse and a part time overnight doula at Wichita Baby Co. With over 20 years of caregiving experience, she’s always ready to share her wisdom and instill confidence and calm in new parents! She and her family live in West Wichita.
