Ewe lamb 9293 decided the head scratches that Moose was getting looked like a pretty good time. She must have liked them because the next time I went out to the pasture she ran right up to me. Also we picked up a new-to-us chore helper for the farm over the weekend, I am really looking forward to having it.

We had to take a break from installing the gates to run this ewe lamb to the vet. With it being so hot out, the air conditioned back of the car seemed like a better choice than the truck bed. She is doing better, and we did manage to finish installing the gates other than a center post for the latches. We are also moving the sheep about every other day right now, so staying busy all around.

When it is over 100 degrees outside, that is the best time to do some grazing in the woods. The ability of the sheep to graze and perform well on the browse is one of our favorite things about them. However the first time clearing a way for the electric netting through the overgrowth is quite the chore.

Barn cats. We have always said one day we would like to have a few barn cats around. However we were not expecting it to happen so soon after moving to our new place. We will be working to get all of the cats around the property fixed and vaccinated, but in the meantime we have a new batch of kittens in the barn and a single kitten with it’s mom living by the house.
