Sunset Lake Horsemanship

Sunset Lake Horsemanship Lessons, classes and trail rides for beginner to intermediate riders using a 10-level curriculum so riders can earn certificates as they progress!

We offer lessons, classes, trail rides and summer camps for beginner-intermediate riders in both Western and English disciplines. Our instructors are certified through Equestrian Management Workshops, and we teach from their 10-level curriculum. Our teaching focuses on building confidence and trust between horse and rider.

Here's a little update about this coming summer's program. I have personally received some Parelli training and I think it can be extremely valuable, especially for giving confidence to younger or beginner riders. For more experienced riders it can give some new ideas of ways to work with horses.

Here at Sunset Lake, we pride ourselves with our popular horsemanship program we provide to campers. This summer take your riding skills to the next level with our graduated curriculum led by talented instructors. You’ll enjoy five new horses, new learning experiences and extended ride time. Hello!

I wanted to give you all a formal update on this page's current status. Right now I am the only one with access to this page it seems but I don't have admin rights, making it difficult to transfer the page to the new horsemanship director. I will continue to stay on this page and even though I am unable to continue working at Sunset Lake for any full summers in the near future. I will continue to stay in contact with Sunset Lake current staff and do my best to connect you to people who may answer questions you may have about the program. I do know that it is taking a slightly different direction this summer than in the past but I don't know the details of it. There is a chance that a new page will have to be made, in which I will let you all know on here so you can hopefully find it easily.
