Finally some dry weather means it’s time for hay!

The pasture was starting to get a little tall for the chickens anyway.

With the recent rains, we are already seeing massive improvements to the soil where the egg layers and meat birds have been.

It will be exciting to see how rotationally grazing will continue to improve our soil health!

With all this rain, it looks like we’ll have a pretty good mulberry crop this year!

We love picking and eating them straight from the trees, and the animals love cleaning up the ones that fall to the ground.

This year, we’re going to freeze-dry some to see how they turn out!

It has been an action-packed few weeks here on the farmstead!

Between welcoming out-of-state family, a ballet recital, herd-health checks, pig castrations, tractor and plumbing repairs, large sourdough orders, and navigating all this rain, life has been moving at top speed. 🌧️🌾
