Sad news this year, we will not be able to support any U-Pick. We have been hoping the strawberry plants would bounce back once the weather got warmer but they have actually started dying off because of the wet spring we had. Having wet soil for extended periods of time when the plants are not dormant allows soil borne fungus to grow and rots the roots. Ultimately killing the plants.
Unfortunately, this means we will also not have any early varieties for next year either as we cannot get any more plants this year. We are hoping the mid season and late varieties we plant this year will produce well enough next year for a later start to the season.
