SHOW SEASON UPDATE 😁
While showing is one of my most anticipated things to do for the year, gas prices and cost of everything else going up has really limited what we are comfortable attending this year. But don't fret, there is still one more show that we will for sure be attending in August. Big question is who are the lucky ones that get to go??

Several does that are currently in milk have been exposed and pending confirmation of pregnancy. Coupled with our recent mid 90° weather and monsoon activities, I am absolutely thrilled with these numbers. Glad to see the girls trucking along. My estimates show that we may have possibly a star or two "awarded" this test. But looks like we will for sure have some girls meeting those benchmarks within the next 30ish days.

We are still working on reducing numbers here at the farm and have a few left to find homes. I would prefer them NOT to go to the sale barn as they are wonderful goats. Please reach out if you are interested.

I have my mudroom back and the babies get to learn how to goat in the nursery. Also glad that today was the last disbudding and tattooing day for at least 4 more months ;) .....

Was it a full moon last night?!?!

Woke up to absolute mayhem this morning. Does in the buck pen, a little buck running amok, saanens fighting (they never fight) and to top it off.... momma dog in labor packing a pup all over the property umbilical cord just dangling. All the other dogs doing their damnedest to just stay the heck away from her at all costs. 🤦‍♀️

Fortunately all the does should already be bred with the exception of one which they were leaving alone. She has been pulled and put back in GP. Little sir is now penned in the barn until tonight when we can repair the fence. And the momma dog... meh, she will figure it out. Now to finish milking and hope I can get to work in time....
