Chiricahua Ranch Vineyards Arizona grown wine grapes for Arizona wine makers!

11/10/2025

There are two pages for this vineyard and winery; one that focuses exclusively on the vineyard and one that focuses on wine production and marketing. This unusual division is due to several reasons, one being that the vineyard started well before the winery, and I wanted to start getting the word out immediately about this little project. The other reason concerns grape sales as a secondary business. That is, we sell wine grapes to other Arizona wineries and those sales are arranged through Chiricahua Ranch Vineyards, LLC. But two pages are twice as difficult to support effectively than just one, and everyone in the business who is looking for grapes knows about our great fruit, so there's no reason to have two pages. Soon... perhaps after the first of the year we'll merge this page into the Laramita Cellars page. In theory, we won't lose any followers with this merge, but in practice, I'm not so confident. Please consider liking or following Laramita Cellars by going to the page below.

Wine from the high deserts of southern Arizona.

Harvest is in full swing. We harvested the old block of Petit Manseng for Callaghan Vineyargs a few days ago, and today the Chardonnay for Aridus Wine Company. Tomorrow we're bringing in the Shiraz clone of Syrah and the Viognier for Laramita Cellars.
Every harvest season is unique and brings its own challenges. This year everything is happening quickly and a bit out of order, but the fruit looks great. 2025 will be known as a year for robust wines with great intensity.

People often ask where we get our vines. Most come as bare root vines packed in bundles of 25 in wet newspaper or saw dust from nurseries in California. These bundles came though from a nursery in upstate New York.

Meet Henry, our newest employee. He works sporadically through the day and night, catching rodents of various types.

Please note that Henry is only a part time employee. His regular home is across the street. Dropping off unwanted cats at a vineyard may seem like a great way to dispose of them, but a part time Henry is all we need. Full time cats wouldn't get the care here that they need.

We have been somewhat remiss in providing harvest updates, but there is a good reason. Everything decided to ripen at the same time! We picked Syrah today for Laramita Cellars. This was the 11th variety or cultivar that we've picked this season. Eight remain to be picked.
