Still waiting on Brazil? Good news! The Nicaragua El Polo FW has entered the chat ๐Ÿ˜Ž

If you are looking for sweetness ๐Ÿฌ, chocolate ๐Ÿซ and nuttiness ๐ŸŒฐ this one is worth a taste. It's a solid, consistent fully washed Catimor from Cooperativa El Polo that delivers on sweetness, body and reliability.

In Jinoteca, El Polo coop has 345 members across 1,100 hectares and nearly three decades of building trust, financing farms and developing their community into something worth having in your lineup.

2026 is the International Year of the Female Farmer, so weโ€™re back on our little world tour to catch up with some incredible women in coffee ๐ŸŒŽ

This time, weโ€™re heading to Colombia to meet producers Magola and Marta, alongside Sara and Laura from Sucafina Colombia ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด

Four women with four different stories, but proving that thereโ€™s always a lot more behind every cup.

Sangalai is the Kenya you put on repeat, priced to make your wallet happy ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช

Owing its name to the bull elephant in Samburu ๐Ÿ˜, a language indigenous to Northern Kenya, the Sangalai AA is forceful, consistent and impossible to ignore. It has some juicy berry notes, a great body and complex acidity, carefully selected by our own QC team at Sucafina Kenya.

Three Grade 1 Ethiopias. Three completely different cups. All top lots, all on the East Coast right now ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡น

Ethiopia's diversity in growing regions and varieties means you could pick one standout lot for your roastery or build an entire Ethiopia lineup without repeating yourself. Right now we have three Grade 1s that just arrived to prove it: a Guji Organic Washed, a Sidamo Ayla Bombe and a Yirgacheffe Aricha Adorsi.

But if you fancy more, there are plenty of Ethiopia lots on the offer list. Jump online or reach out to your trader ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿ”ฅFor a long time the narrative about Robusta has been pretty limited. You know the drill: bitter, functional, not particularly inspiring. Still, that's changing and it's changing fast so we wanted to talk about it...

We sat down with the experts, Kristine Breminer Isgren and Walter Rossi, two of our QC managers and Q Graders from the UK and Geneva offices, to dig into the emerging picture of fine (or 'premium') Robusta.

The big spoiler: when it's grown, harvested and processed with the same care as specialty Arabica, the results can be surprising and come with a bag of yummy fruit, honey, vanilla, and caramel notes. And with processing methods like anaerobic fermentation, honey and yeast inoculation now being applied to Robusta just as they are with Arabica, roasters have more options than ever to experiment with.

On August 21, 36 competitors from across the country will go head-to-head in Boston for the single US qualifier to the World AeroPress Championship in Mexico City. One AeroPress each, one shot at the title and our very secret green coffee that we cannot wait to see in action. ๐Ÿคซ

Kenya lots are about to arrive in New York and Oakland ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช

If there's one origin that roasters come back to for that punchy, fruit-forward brightness that steals hearts (and palates) left and right, it's Kenya. The brightness, the berry, the structure... Kenya doesn't disappoint and these four lots are no exception:

๐ŸŒธ Kabingara AA FW: berries, stone fruit and a sweet finish
๐ŸŒ„ Gathaithi AB FW: lively acidity and delicate sweetness
๐ŸŒ‹ Kaguyu AA FW: bright acidity and stone fruit sweetness
๐ŸŒฟ Kathakwa AA FW: bright and complex

Stacy and Serena flew to Colombia to join Gabriela, Andres and Vanessa for a farm visit, and then they joined the team in the Bogotรก office for a tasting of some seriously good lots. And obviously, a hike up Monserrate, because you can't be in Bogotรก and not go up Monserrate ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด

Now that we have your attention... Some great Colombias are landing at the end of the month. Keep your eyes on the offer list ๐Ÿคซ

We make it our business to know the people running our business ๐Ÿ˜„ so meet Temnet Belayneh, General Manager in Ethiopia ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡น

When she joined Sucafina earlier this year, Temnet brought 13 years of export operations, logistics and commercial leadership... and she's still cupping like it's her first day, which pretty much tells you everything you need to know ๐Ÿ”

Last week, we chatted about her journey, what it means to lead in the birthplace of coffee, her passion for building direct market access for smallholder farmers and her advice for anyone starting out in the industry: be curious, ask questions and never stop learning.

Her go-to cup? Traditional Ethiopian coffee, freshly roasted and brewed. No surprises thereโœจ
