It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our friend, teammate, and family member, Brian Beadle.
Some people leave an impression through what they accomplish. Brian left his through the way he made people feel.
To know Brian was to know someone who genuinely cared. He had an incredible ability to make every person feel welcome, seen, and valued. Whether you had known him for years or had just met him, he had a way of making you feel like you belonged. His infectious laugh, unwavering authenticity, fierce loyalty, and unmistakable presence left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Brian’s impact reached far beyond the walls of our restaurants. He became a beloved part of the Williamsburg hospitality community, building lasting friendships, mentoring others, sharing his creativity through photography, nurturing his love of plants, and bringing joy and kindness into everyday moments. He embodied the very best of hospitality—not because it was his profession, but because it was simply who he was.
At Against the Grain Hospitality, we often say that we are more than a collection of restaurants—we are a family. Brian was an irreplaceable part of that family, and his loss is deeply felt by every member of our team.
Our hearts are with Brian’s family, his many friends, and everyone whose life was made better by knowing him. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts as we all navigate this unimaginable loss together.
Brian’s legacy will live on in the countless stories shared, the friendships he created, the people he inspired, and every genuine smile, warm greeting, and act of kindness that reminds us of him.
