Hi, I'm Kirstie, the owner of Prairie Hippie Vintage!

After becoming a mom, I felt inspired to turn my love of history and treasure hunting into a business of my own. A little over two years ago, I started Prairie Hippie Vintage as the sister business to my handmade shop, The Artsy Hippie, launching exclusively on Etsy's vintage marketplace. What began as a way to pursue a passion has grown into a business that brings me so much joy, connecting people with pieces that bring warmth, character, and nostalgia into their homes.

I've loved old things for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was fascinated by ancient Egypt and dreamed of becoming an archaeologist. While life took me in a slightly different direction, I earned a degree in history, and now get to put that knowledge—and my inner history nerd—to good use. I like to think of myself as a modern-day archaeologist, traveling across the Midwest to live auctions, estate sales, flea markets, and random sheds in search of unique pieces with stories to tell and good vibes (no creepy old stuff here).
