A Star Reimagined 💫

One of the most acclaimed meads ever produced at Silver Hand Meadery has been reimagined as part of our Cellar Reserve Series.

Wish upon the shining stars of Avocado Blossom and Star Thistle Blossom Honey and discover what a mead can truly be.

Shining Avostar is an avant-garde mead aged for 12 months in ex-Amaro barrels from Copper Fox Distillery. Aromas of dried apricot, mango, and citrus rise from the glass, followed by subtle notes of cedar, black tea, and vanilla. The result is a layered, contemplative mead that continues to evolve with time.

A new way to discover wine is coming to Silver Hand Meadery.

We’re excited to introduce the Discover Wine Series, a new monthly wine education experience led by our COO and Certified Specialist of Wine, Kenny Bumbaco.

Designed for curious beginners and seasoned wine lovers alike, each session will explore a different wine style, region, or theme through guided tastings, conversation, and discovery.

Our first session, Rosés for Summer, takes place on June 17 at 6:30 PM.

Enjoy a guided tasting of 5–6 rosé wines from around the world, paired with a small cheese plate, as we explore the diversity, character, and versatility of one of summer’s most beloved wine styles.

Tickets are $30 per person.

Live Jazz. Every Friday.

Join us this Friday from 7–9 PM at Silver Hand Meadery for another evening of live jazz at Williamsburg’s Home for Jazz.

This week, we’re excited to welcome the Christian Mitchell Trio featuring Joe Bussey on bass and Joel Sanford on piano.

A recent graduate of Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Jazz emphasis, Christian Mitchell is a versatile percussionist and active performer throughout Hampton Roads. He has shared the stage with acclaimed jazz artists including Houston Person, Katie Thiroux, and Kenny Washington, while building a reputation as both an accomplished musician and dedicated educator.

Food service begins at 6 PM. Music starts at 7 PM.

No reservations. No tickets. Just great mead, great music, and a great way to spend a Friday night in Williamsburg.

Happy World Cider Day!

ICYMI, we recently started a new chapter at Silver Hand with the launch of Silver Hand Cider.

Just as our meads began with a desire to rediscover and reimagine honey, we’re approaching cider with that same spirit of exploration, creativity, and appreciation for what nature provides. Our first release, Higher Ground, is crafted from 100% Virginia apples and marks the beginning of an exciting new journey for us.

As we celebrate World Cider Day, we’re grateful for the opportunity to savor what is good in a new way and to explore the rich traditions and possibilities of cider alongside our mead community.

Introducing Silver Hand Cider, the newest way to savor what is good here at Silver Hand Meadery.

Just as our meads began with a desire to rediscover and reimagine honey, we’re excited to explore cider with that same spirit of curiosity, experimentation, and creativity.

Our first release, Higher Ground, is a carbonated dry cider made from 100% Virginia apples.

Inspired by hiking trails, foothills, elevation, cool air, and the slow ripening that gives mountain fruit its character, Higher Ground brings together a thoughtful blend of apples:

Winesap and GoldRush for backbone and acidity.
Black Twig for depth and tannin.
Granny Smith for lift.

Bright, dry, and refreshing, this first cider marks the beginning of something new at Silver Hand. More cider releases are coming this fall, and soon, cider will be available to enjoy alongside mead regularly in our tasting room.

This weekend, enjoy Higher Ground by the glass or as part of a special Virginia Cider Flight featuring ciders from producers across the Commonwealth.

This week, we’re excited to welcome Django Tango, a Richmond-based gypsy jazz swing trio formed to celebrate the music of legendary French guitarist Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France. Led by guitarist Russ Hanchin, the trio brings the energy, rhythm, and timeless style of classic gypsy jazz to Silver Hand for an unforgettable night of music.
