This will be a new flower variety for me in 2027, and the internet has a multitude of opinions on how best to grow them here in zone 6, so I am taking my roughly 2,000 corms and splitting them into a couple different groups to trial various planting and growing on methods. This is group 1 and I cannot wait to see them sprout!!

Floristry has taken a back seat to the farming work through the spring and summer months, but I am so excited for Homecoming season, holiday season, wedding season etc! I need about 1 week notice to fill orders right now, but Iā€™m hoping that business will pick up enough to keep a few things on hand for last minute requests. HYDROPONIC LETTUCE šŸ˜±

I have to be honest, Doug has wanted to try hydroponics for YEARS and Iā€™ve been super resistant to it because it just doesnā€™t feel like gardening to me, but with all the lettuce and produce shenanigans this summer, we really wanted to make a go of it. So far it has been so cool to watch these little babies grow. Iā€™m hoping to be able to cut our first bags of hydroponic lettuce in about 2 weeks! Iā€™ve promised the first ones to Ranch & Root Market but we are actively looking at equipment to expand this operation by 3-4x šŸ˜¬

Monday Update!

Iā€™m in fall cleanup and next year planning mode, but weā€™re also working on indoor grown lettuce, and some fun off season floral offerings so stay tuned! Hoping to get more info out on those things later this week ā˜ŗļø
