We moved out of the city in 2019 to be able to raise our growing family in the country. We bought an old farm that had been vacant & neglected for years, it needed a lot of work just to breathe life back into the property. It didn’t take us long to fall in love with the idea of farming. The name Silver Fern Hemp Farm was inspired by our property, and a trip we took to New Zealand years ago. While
on that trip we learned that the Silver Fern was used to aid navigation through the forests, as well as a symbol to represent strength, resistance, new life and new beginnings. We came home from that trip wanting to recenter our lives around a more natural and healthy approach, with more time appreciating the outdoors and what nature has to offer. So it just felt like the right move when we bought the farm. As we settled into the simple country life, we decided to try our hand at farming and our minds immediately went to hemp. The vast benefits of hemp & CBD have always been intriguing, and our own experiences were very positive, so naturally we were drawn to this opportunity. One of the main reasons we wanted to move to this farm was to improve our family’s mental and physical well being, and now that we are growing hemp for CBD extraction products, we want to help guide others on a new path to wellness just as the silver fern was used to guide others through the forest.
