We are up to 22 chicks! Learning about the intricacies of a chick developing inside the egg is such a testament to the wonder that is our Creator!

The new piggies are settling in nicely and enjoying grazing. Something I have never seen a pig do in person!

The farm became home to two more animal types today!
The pigs are Kune Kunes and they are a slower growing, smaller breed than we are used to but they eat mostly grass!
And the ducks may have been a bit of an impulse purchase 😬

Finally made the time this morning to jot down the story of Euchariesteo Farms’ rebirth in the last year. At least the short version.

About three years ago, around the time I stopped posting on this page, Patrick and I were starting to feel the weight of what we had gotten ourselves into. We had moved to the country, built a house, and then before it was even complete, bought all the animals. All while Patrick worked away from home 50 hours and we experienced an unplanned blessing of another newborn. We limped through for awhile, before God made it very clear to us that this just wasn’t working. So, we sold all the animals.

Fast forward to Fall of 2019 when I received a phone call from a very nice, although slightly mysterious, lady wanting to know about our farm (a farm that didn’t exist anymore). I didn’t know it at the time but that phone call would be what God used to launch us back into farming. This time, however, we are doing it in community with the aforementioned nice lady and her wonderful family. And you guys it is So. Much. Better.

The highlights of the last year and a half include; us meeting with the Mason family, deciding (after many talks and prayer) that we should farm together, them moving into a camper in our front yard, us buying chickens, rabbits, pigs and cows together, starting (and mostly failing) to grow a garden, them now owning their own piece of land on the farm, building and moving into their house, and many other ups and downs that we have had the privilege of experiencing together.

Although we are just starting out (for the second time around) we are excited to see what God has planned for us!

And here is the flock that produces those beautiful eggs I posted yesterday. Any guesses on breeds?
