A Little Taste of Freedom Farm is a veteran-owned family farm in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, operated by my wife, our three daughters, our grandchild, and, at times, a young adult we mentor as they prepare for independence. We are cultivating a legacy that belongs as much to our community as it does to our family. More than a farm, we are intentionally reforesting to create a vibrant space where our co
mmunity can gather, grow, and celebrate the land we cherish. Our fields are being transformed into a thriving agroforestry system, integrating specialty crops such as ginseng, black cohosh, ramps, mushrooms, and other native edibles and medicinals. Beneath the tree canopy, we cultivate healing herbs and plants that nourish both body and soul, fostering a sanctuary of sustainability, flavor, and connection deeply rooted in Kentucky’s foraging traditions. Our vision began as a family dream. As a veteran, I found peace in working this land, complemented by my wife’s passion for plants. Our daughter Alana supports our mission through her agricultural expertise and connections from her home in Florida. Our daughter Rayne, an agriculture major at Kentucky State University specializing in aquaponics, contributes her dedication to education as she prepares for her master’s degree. Our daughter Cadence, a versatile entrepreneur who started her own butcher shop at age 15, is now pursuing an education in the trades. Our grandchild’s joyful giggles light up the fields, inspiring us to share this vision with our neighbors, friends, and fellow Kentuckians. We invite you to join us in making A Little Taste of Freedom Farm a welcoming haven for all, from Harrodsburg families to visitors from afar, where everyone feels included and connected to the land.
