When we started this venture, back in 2020, we had grand ideas that our kids would love gardening as much as we do and they would help us all the time. 🤣

Fast forward six years and the reality is that we take what we can get. We don’t force the garden on the girls. Some might say that we should, but we don’t want them to feel obligated to help and then end up hating gardening.

It’s a slow process, building up work ethic and determination, and that’s for the kids and adults alike it seems!

We’ll take the small 15 minute wins in the garden with my little people. This is where our hearts find the quiet and happy moments.

Today’s 2026 Fall Garden Clean-Up video shows us unloading 4 cubic yards of premium I Can’t Believe It’s Chicken Manure Compost, made by Humble Acres Organics.

This compost is magic and we can’t wait to plant our fall plugs (for spring flowers) into this fluffy soil!

More to come from the clean up! Like and follow for more. 🎉🎉🎉

This weekend has been an onslaught of garden work. We ripped out weeds, and moved 4 cubic yards of Humble Acres Organics exceptional compost.

It was SO much work that we have decided to make a several part series!

Oh, and it was so hot out, despite it being close to ‘fall,’ that the phone shut off mid filming. 😂😂😂 No matter, we let it cool and continued on!

Like, follow, and stay tuned for more!

If you have a need for something beautiful, please let us know. The flower cart has been quiet 🤫 because A) it’s hot 🥵 and B) we have been busy with wholesale orders!

Please reach out if you are really missing our flowers and we will creat something on demand. We promise, we will be back soon, as the weather cools off.

🌿 A little hellebore experiment at Rivendell Farms 🌿

This is the very first time we’ve ever divided our hellebores, so we’re learning as we go!

We decided to divide some of our established plants and move the divisions into raised beds, with the hope of eventually having lots more hellebores for the flower farm. 🌱

Fall is a great time to divide many hardy perennials. Dividing established plants is an easy way to multiply what you already have, while giving the new divisions time to settle in and establish roots before the heat of next summer.

And hellebores are one of those plants we think deserve WAY more attention from cut flower growers. They’re perennial, shade tolerant, incredibly long lived, and their early season blooms are absolutely gorgeous in arrangements. And when harvested at the right stage, hellebores can have a vase life of 3–4 weeks! 🤍

So… here’s hoping our first attempt at hellebore division gives us lots of happy little plants! 🤞🌿

We’ll keep you posted on how they do!
