For those who strive to know the contents of everything they eat — why not wine, too?

26th Street Liquor carries a variety of organic wines; Avaline is one of our favorite brands! You can find these bottles in the wine room, near the front, on a shelving unit with a number of other organic selections.

Avaline Red is described as a beautifully approachable Red blend with hints of cherry and a touch of spice." It is classified as a light to medium body red, and pairs well with smoky flavors of grilled or roasted meats and grilled veggies. Serve it in a medium-bodied red glass and slightly chilled (55–60°F).

Avaline White is described as an "everyday, easy white. Dry with a touch of citrus and a crisp, fresh finish." It is a great palate cleanser and well-suited to fresh salads with citrusy dressings, shellfish, grilled shrimp and grilled salmon, shrimp cocktail, herbed or lemon-seared chicken and pesto pastas. Avoid heavy cream-based sauces, and serve chilled (around 45–50°F).

Mule 2.0’s Moscow Mule is a ready-to-drink cocktail made with vodka, natural ginger, and natural citrus flavor, designed to consistently deliver the authentic taste of the 1941 Moscow Mule without the mixing. It’s sold in 4-packs of 12 oz cans (convenient for the cooler).

Mule 2.0 is a slightly sweeter version of the classic Moscow Mule. Its strong ginger bite, balanced by lemon-lime notes, make it a perfect summer sipper. What are you drinking this weekend?

The term “terroir” speaks to how everything from soil composition to climate shapes a spirit’s flavor. It is commonly associated with wine, but in the world of tequila, terroir is a defining character as well. Soil composition can affect sugar profiles. Weather, heat, temperature and precipitation all shape the agave plant.

While large brands source agave from multiple regions and blend to create a uniform final product (which can be fantastic!), small distilleries take pride in offering small-batch, artisanal tequila from a single region. For people who appreciate a spirit's story, the tequila should reflect where it came from.

Tequila OCHO Reposado Single Estate is a great place to start your journey.
Slowly roasted in old brick ovens and then distilled at low temperatures, the sweet agave notes shine through plus delicate notes of sweet spice, cinnamon, and vanilla. The tequila rests for 8 weeks and 8 days in American Oak whiskey barrels, which lends it a translucent gold color.

You can find it Tequila OCHO at 26th Street Liquor in Williston!

Not only does Wente Family Vineyards produce consistently well-reviewed and award-winning wines, but the business is also a pioneer in the sustainability industry. Intrigued? Read on! Stop in for a bottle regardless though, because all of them are definitely worth a try.

Wente Vineyards has been farming sustainably since its founding in 1883 and is a certified sustainable vineyard and winery from the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance. Some of the sustainable practices Wente Vineyards implements throughout the supply chain apply to:
1. Water
-site-specific irrigation with flow meters and sensors to enable precision of watering the vines only as needed.
-hedgerows are established to avoid run-off and protect the integrity of groundwater.
-steam sanitation is used on equipment to reduce water waste in the cellar.
-winery’s wastewater is put into a water reclamation pond for treatment (the most effective means for the biological oxidation of winery wastewater)

2. Soil
-no-till system is used so soil is not disturbed (plus fewer tractor emissions)
-cover crops are planted to the specific block and soil type to promote biodiversity, attract beneficial insects, improve microbiological life and soil structure.
-sheep graze the vineyard weeds in the winter to eliminate the use of tractors and chemicals.

3. Energy
-winery invested in a STARS filtration unit to reduce energy load during the cold stabilization process in the winery (system saves 90% of energy compared to traditional cold stabilization methods)
-solar installation project will offset energy usage at the winery

4. Packaging
-lighter-weight glass reduces carbon emissions from the supplier to the consumer. -marketing materials are made from recycled and recyclable materials
-a new bottling line installed to increase energy efficiencies

It's wine for the whiskey lover.

Cooper & Thief’s Red Blend offers notes of warm toasty vanilla, blackberry and dark currant jam, plus a gentle hint of classic bourbon spice thanks to being aged for three months in bourbon whiskey barrels.

Try it slightly chilled (60–65°F). It pairs well with hearty, smoky dishes, especially beef, and rich comfort foods. Think pot roast, grilled or pan-seared steak with potatoes, BBQ beef, goulash and tomato-based pasta dishes. It's also great with your favorite charcuterie board.

Rebel Root Beer Whiskey made a brief debut in 2016 as part of a twin-flavored whiskey set, and people loved it. Now it's back!
The same root beer flavors you remember: sassafras, caramel and vanilla cream – almost ice cream – pair beautifully with Rebel’s time-honored wheated bourbon whiskey recipe. Enjoy it neat or chilled, but it's truly perfect in a classic whiskey cola over ice.
