'Unraveled' Weeping Common Boxwood is a tough but elegant shrub makes a definite statement in the landscape where the branches weep gracefully for a very "un-boxy" boxwood. It grows in full sun to shade and is exceptionally drought tolerant and deer resistant. Perfect for containers, specimens or massing on a hillside.

'Serendipity' Magnolia is a beautiful, rounded, large shrub or small tree with dark green foliage and an amazing display of creamy white, spring flowers. It makes a rounded plant without pruning but can be grown more upright if trained.

'Fragrant Princess' Osmanthus is a beautiful evergreen shrub with tiny, holly-like leaves. It forms a dense, upright shrub without any pruning although it can be sheared to a desired size and shape. Intensely fragrant white flowers are born in fall.

'Raulston Hardy' Viburnum is a tough but beautiful native plant for any garden or landscape. It makes a small, neat mound without any pruning and is topped in spring with masses of white flowers. It's also very drought tolerant once established.

Japanese Spiraea is a flowering dwarf deciduous shrub with showy spring flowers and bright leaves that change color through the seasons. Flower and leaf colors depend on the cultivar. Tried and True cultivars like 'Goldmound' shine with pink blooms and continuous gold color through summer and end in the fall with beautiful, bright orange/red.

Gardenias (Gardenia Jasminoides) are woody, evergreen shrubs with fragrant, creamy white flowers, and lustrous, dark, emerald green foliage. Find cultivars such as 'Frostproof' & 'Prince Charles' in your local garden center.

Crepe Myrtles (Lagerstroemia) are deciduous shrubs or small trees known for their long-lasting summer blooms. However, many varieties like 'Natchez' and 'Autaugaville Purple' also have color-changing foliage in the fall and sloughing bark that give the trunks a marbled look in the winter.

Smaller versions of the southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora) like 'Little Gem' and 'Bracken's Brown Beauty' have the evergreen, glossy-green-above-bronze-brown-below leaves and fragrant large white flowers of the original southern magnolias.

Hydrangeas bloom beautifully in the summer, but these deciduous shrubs have leaves that can also add additional fall flair to the garden and landscape. Panicle hydrangea (Hyrdrangea Paniculate) blossoms appear from July until first frost and their large oval leaves turn yellow in the fall. Try cultivars such as 'Little Lime'.
