Thanks for eating with us tonight! It was a joy celebrating blackness with our neighbors! 🖤

And shout out to the for sharing dried pinto beans for us to cook up in our crockpots. came out with the best peach cobbler in town! cooked up some amazing vegan chicken wings. The oxtails that made us were the talk of the town! And honorable mention to the cheesiest mac and cheese made by

Tonight, in between prepping dishes for community dinner, our board chair , dropped the mic 🎤 on the importance of a grocery store in the Northside of downtown Wilmington NC…a neighborhood that hasn’t had a grocery store in over 3 decades.

🥕 Food access and specifically neighborhood grocery stores literally extend a person’s life expectancy. What we eat and the types of foods we have access to matter!

⁉️So why is it taking so long for our store to open ⁉️

This year is about building community, and what better way than eating together with your neighbors? These collaborative dinners are hosted by partner nonprofits who care about gathering. All are welcome: families, couples, friends, and solo pals.
