I found a little grasshopper on our sunflower and said
“Young grasshopper what brings you here”
He said “Honestly Sensei I’m just trying to figure out what I’m doing with my life”
I said “Good First lesson slow down you’re already hopping to conclusions”
He said “But shouldn’t I be getting somewhere”
I said “Somewhere Brother you’re standing on a sunflower You’ve already made it”
He looked at me like I’d just revealed the meaning of life
I told him “The strange thing about life is that when we’re young we can’t wait to grow up”
“Then we grow up and spend half our time wishing we could slow everything down”
“So take the long way sometimes Watch the sunset Sit in the garden Talk to people you love And remember why you started”
He said “What if I don’t have time”
I said “Then make time The clock isn’t going to do it for you”
He thought about that for a while then looked up at me and said
“So what’s the rush Sensei”
I said “There isn’t one That’s the trick”
He settled back onto the sunflower and watched the breeze move through the garden
I said “One day you’ll miss days like this so don’t be too busy to notice them while they’re happening”
He smiled and said “You know Sensei you talk a lot for someone who just found me eating a flower”
I said “Fair enough Lesson over”
He hopped away
And honestly I think there’s a lesson in that for us at Botana Organics too
We started this place because we believe plants can help people and that people deserve access to good honest information about them
Now we’re watching h**p laws and regulations change around us and there’s always pressure to rush react and fight the next battle
But we’re going to keep doing what we’ve always done
Keep learning Keep helping people Keep standing up for what we believe is right and keep taking care of the community that supports us
Because sometimes progress isn’t about jumping as far as you can
Sometimes it’s about staying rooted long enough to make a difference
And if a little grasshopper can figure that out on a sunflower
I suppose the rest of us can too 🌻🦗
Botana Organics
Stay rooted Keep growing
