We achieve these goals by allowing our hens to walk freely around the farm grazing on grass and small bugs from sun up to sun down. We supplement their diet with a special formulated feed designed by our Chief Farmer! Their feed is 100% organic and soy free. Organic ingredients include: Peas, Co
rn, Wheat, Oats, Flax Seeds, Kelp, and mineral supplements! Often on chicken farms, after a year or two of egg laying, the chickens are killed in favor of younger more frequently egg laying hens. True Terre Farm is a No-Kill Chicken Farm. We will never kill our chickens because they slowed or stopped laying eggs. We value the entire life of the hen and allow them to pass their happy days on our farm, regardless of infrequent egg laying days. We believe this practice allows for a healthier and happy hen; they are not just chickens but they are part of our family! We gladly deliver our eggs directly from our home to yours in the Sacramento CA Region. Delivery is free and generally takes place in the evenings.
