Hello Friends of Walnut Ridge Farm. We wanted to take a minute to fill all of you in on what has been happening here on the farm over the winter and through the spring. But first of all, we want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped to make our little farm a BIG success last year. We had an amazing year of sales both here on the farm and at the Farmer's Market. We truly appreciate all of our customers.
As many of you know, farming is not a guaranteed thing. It is dependent upon many variables. For us, the health of our goats is one of those variables that we are struggling with.
Our goat herd has always been super healthy with minimal vet care needed. But as of late, a common bacterial infection has invaded our herd and we are taking the steps necessary, guided by the advice of our vet to eliminate it. With that in mind, Walnut Ridge Farm has decided not to sell our goat milk products this season out of an abundance of caution. We feel, although not necessary, it is an expense and sacrifice that is important to make to ensure we put out the best products possible to you - our loyal customers!
You will, however, see us at the Market as often as we can be there with some of our other products: Tea, soap, plants, jewelry and some exciting new products: pasture raised chicken and rabbit meat! We are excited about these new offers. Our families have been enjoying them for a while. Now we look forward to offering them to you !
We look forward to seeing all of you at the Market this summer. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this "variable" in our farm life.
