Wi******er Ridge Farm & Hasselstrom Farm
Wi******er Ridge Farm and Hasselstrom Farm are family-owned farms located on the rolling hills of Idaho's Camas Prairie, nestled between the Salmon and Clearwater Rivers. Owned and operated by Eric and Sheila Hasselstrom, our farm represents four generations of farming, ranching, and stewardship rooted in the belief that agriculture should nourish both people and the land.
Like many family farms across America, we spent decades producing commodities for large markets. We raised crops, cared for livestock, and worked hard to provide for our family, but over time we began to ask a different question: What if farming could be about more than producing commodities? What if it could create a direct connection between the people who grow food and the families who enjoy it?
That question has guided our transition from a traditional commodity farm to a purpose-driven agricultural business focused on producing exceptional food while improving the health of our soil, animals, and community.
Today, our operation encompasses approximately 3,000 acres of dryland crops, pasture, and rangeland. We raise cattle and sheep while growing wheat, barley, oats, hay, canola, peas, and heritage grains. Everything we do is centered around stewardship, transparency, and producing food with integrity.
Our commitment to regenerative farming practices began long before the term became popular. For nearly thirty years, we have practiced no-till farming to protect soil health and reduce erosion. Through crop rotations, livestock integration, cover crops, and residue grazing, we work with natural systems rather than against them. Healthy soil is the foundation of healthy food, and we believe caring for the land today creates opportunities for future generations.
At Wi******er Ridge Farm, our livestock are raised in a way that reflects the natural landscape they call home. Our cattle and sheep spend most of their lives grazing open pastures and rangeland. Our lambs are finished using barley and oats grown on our own farm, creating a local and transparent food system from field to table. We believe animals thrive when raised in environments that allow them to express their natural behaviors, and we believe consumers deserve to know where their food comes from.
Hasselstrom Farm focuses on preserving and sharing heritage grains, including Red Fife wheat, one of North America's oldest and most celebrated wheat varieties. By offering whole berries and freshly milled flour directly to consumers, we help reconnect families with traditional foods and the rich agricultural heritage behind them. We believe grain should have a story, a flavor, and a connection to the people who grow it.
More than anything, we believe farming is about relationships. It is about building trust between farmers and consumers. It is about helping families understand where their food comes from and how it is produced. It is about creating opportunities for meaningful conversations around health, nutrition, stewardship, and community.
Our mission is simple: to produce high-quality food, improve the health of the land, strengthen rural communities, and leave agriculture better than we found it.
Every loaf of bread made from our heritage grain, every meal shared around a table featuring our lamb or beef, and every customer who chooses to support local agriculture becomes part of that mission.
We are still farmers. We are still ranchers. But today, we are also storytellers, educators, and advocates for a food system that reconnects people with the source of their food.
At Wi******er Ridge Farm and Hasselstrom Farm, we believe good food starts with healthy soil, responsible stewardship, and a commitment to doing things the right way. We are proud of where we came from, excited about where we are going, and grateful for every family who chooses to join us on this journey.
